Counselor Trainee
Alyssa Cooper has joined Beacon Counseling Center and is offering counseling services at a discounted rate. She is currently a graduate student pursuing an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University and practicing under the supervision of Crissy Bontrager LPCC-S. In 2017, she graduated from Capital University with a BA in Psychology.
She and her family have recently returned to the central Ohio area after a seven-year stint with the US Navy. She is also a mom to two busy toddlers and enjoys spending time outside with her family playing, hiking, and swimming.
Having experienced the trials of military life as a navy spouse, Alyssa is passionate about serving current and retired service members, their families, and families in general, to help them experience better emotional and behavioral functioning. She is familiar with anxiety, depression, and trauma related issues, and her studies have included a concentration in human development across the lifespan. Offering a safe space to share and process, Alyssa utilizes elements of cognitive behavioral therapy and family systems theory to help individuals and families reach their goals.
